Welcome to my Ragdoll world!
Well we have relaocated. Well our permenant home is not ready till August 1rst, 2010, so we are in a 5th wheel trailer camping it! We will be living in the Stoney Point area east of Windsor and south of Chatham. The cats are loving the view from the trailer, loads of birds and squirrels running around! To cute to hear the cats and the kittens make their lil chattering noise when they spot a bird!!!
Why not get a Ragdoll?
A Ragdoll cat is refered to as a "small dog"! They crave attention, love their owners and express it at every given moment possible! Lapcats they are!!! They are purrr-fect in every way! Not all Ragdoll cats are perfect, or perfectly marked for showing or show/ breeders. I do believe each and every cat/ kitten I have deserves to be in a forever home and to be loved unconditionally!
They are gentle, warm, loving and yes Very Affectionate! Their personalities are very unique & CAN WARM THE HARDEST OF HEARTS!! They love to follow you from room to room, and can be quite chatty. If you know your cat you can read into what it is they want. They can be taught to do anything a dog can pretty much do. Mine love to play catch. If they have a favorite feather toy!, mine find it where ever I try and hide it... they hunt it down!!!
What is a Ragdoll?
The Ragdoll Breed was started by a lady named Anne Baker in the 1960's. I have read quite a few different articles about Anne and how she got started in the creating with the different cats she used. You can go online and do some searching of the Ragdoll Breed and Anne Baker. It would become even more repetitive if I put the info on my site as well. I personally think with the cats she used, she did a GREAT job!!!
What colours are they?
Ragdoll kittens are born mostly white. It takes about 2 weeks or better for their colour/markings to show through.
The colours are Seal, Blue,Chocolate, Lilac, Red (flame), Cream, Tortie, & Lynx. The patterns are Pointed, Mitted, & Bi-colour.
How big does a Ragdoll get?
Females can range in weight from 9-13lbs. Males get quite a bit bigger, anywhere from 12-20lbs in weight.
What are their coats like?
Their coats are silky soft, and can vary in length.
What colours are their eyes?
Their eye are only BLUE! From light icy-blue to dark blue.
How long until they are full grown
Ragdoll cats can take up to 4 years to mature.
Are they outdoor cats?
They are preferred to be an inside cat. Only because their ability to defend themselves is a bit slow. If you do let your cat outdoors you can train them to walk on a harness. At first all they will want to do is lie down. But eventually they will walk.
